China’s Xi touches down in Da Nang to deliver APEC speech

China’s President and Party chief Xi Jinping landed in Da Nang at 1 p.m. on Friday where he is set to address a key meeting at the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit before leaders of other global giants the U.S. and Russia.

Xi is scheduled to speak at the CEO Summit later on Friday before attending the Leaders’ Meeting with leaders from the 21 APEC economies on Saturday.

He will meet with Vietnamese leaders in Hanoi during a state visit on Sunday and Monday, making Vietnam his first official overseas trip after the 19th Chinese Communist Party Congress last month, when he was granted another five years in power as general secretary.
